I want… a bar of chocolate

14 July 2008 · Leave a Comment

But not just any old bar of chocolate.

Lately I’m quite partial to Green and Black’s organic milk chocolate.  I buy a bar when I go shopping on Fridays, and eat a few blocks at a time over the course of a few days.  Sometimes I can make a bar last a week, but in most cases there’ll be nothing left by Sunday night.

However, there is an even nicer bar of chocolate, but it’s expensive and isn’t stocked locally, so I’m limited to buying it online.  And with postage at four-quid-something, cheap it ain’t.

The chocolate in question is Hotel Chocolat’s House 50% – it has a really chocolatey flavour, but with less sugar than the sort you can buy in the local sweetie shop, and it doesn’t contain any hydrogenated vegetable fats so it won’t clog the arteries as quickly as some of the cheaper, more readily available chocolates do.

I was given a free sample of House 50% when I stopped by the Hotel Chocolat stand at an exhibition a few months ago, and truly savoured every mouthful.  It’s been haunting my dreams ever since.  Yum :)
